Nepal Travel Blog

After all, it has long been known for its postcard mountains, the Everest trek, water rafting rivers, and the sky suitable for paragliding. Nearby are Durbar squares, so travelers often distinguish between their travel objectives and their interests: should I go because of culture, or travel?

It is very possible to do both, of course, without worrying about the volume of sports and cultural trends. All you need to do is plan your Nepal Tour and look for the right places to enjoy the best in Nepal.

On this trip, start in the capital Kathmandu, going back to the Malla regime and several sightseeing tours around the city and nature. In the center, an adrenaline-powered trek will take you to Pokhara, where more outdoor expectations (challenges) are outside.

Here is how to spend a fun, full week in the Himalayan nation of Nepal.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Go down in history by visiting Hanuman Dhoka Square, and Durbar Square a city on the UNESCO list, and wander around temples and statues.

Next, descend the Stupa Swayambunath, known as the most important Buddhist site in Kathmandu. Its English name? Monkey Temple – a group of forest monkeys around the stairs leading up to the complex.

From there, make your way to the largest place in the valley: the Boudhanath Stupa, the holiest Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside of Tibet.

Take an afternoon break by stopping at Pashupatinath near the Bagmati River. The place has a Hindu temple, and it is known for its open-air crematoriums!

Tip: Why not take a look at the landmarks mentioned above, which come with the convenience of air-conditioned transportation? Your journey starts at about 8:30 AM and ends at 4:30 PM.

After that, check out the Thamel markets. When it comes to the city’s tourist attraction, it is usually crowded, but it is also a good place to shop for small items – you will find everything from books to hiking gear.

For dinner, go to the restaurant, that is, the most popular restaurant for Nepali and Tibetan cuisine. Try their back (hotpot), and don’t forget to feed the momos (type of dumplings)!

Views from Nagarkot

They feel the rural Himalayas, a mountain town blessed with beautiful views of the Annapurna mountains to the west and Everest to the east. You will find glimpses of the daily life of tribal communities, especially those of the Tamang and Newari.

See another World Heritage Site, a Vishnu shrine known as the Changu Narayan Temple. Beware of beautiful paintings, works of art dating back to the Licchavi era. (Travel starts at 7:30 AM to approximately 3:30 PM)

OR: If you are facing a challenge, what about down Kakani? This downhill trail through Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, full of amazing views; and passes through Budhanilkantha, an area not restricted to visitors and reserved only for Buddhists and Hindus. The trail is very popular among adrenaline junkies, often on the to-do list while in Kathmandu. (Approximately 10 hour drive, from 7 AM to 5:30 PM)

To end the day, book local Nepali food and a traditional Mayar Dance show. Tip: Get some rest later and enjoy the next day’s fun!

See Mt. Everest

Start the day with a spectacular view of the Nepali national emblem and the magnificent splendor of the crown: Mt. Everest. Book in the morning and enjoy an exciting hour in the sky, watching the highest peaks in the world and their neighboring peaks.

Afterward, head to the ancient city of Patan, where you will find some of the city’s most beautiful sculptures and crafts – and their builders. Its Durbar Square is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

And home to another UNESCO site is Bhaktapur and its Durbar Square. The city looks attractive in ancient times, and the streets and buildings are still in their former architectural form. It descends near the magnificent Nyatapola Temple, 30 feet [30 m] high, one of the longest across the valley. Tip: Thank you for continuing to these sites.

For dinner – as well as a delightful dip with the locals – enjoy the hospitable Nepali family. You will learn to do basic things, such as momos, dhalbhat, and sell roti, and then serve and enjoy your homemade dinner with the whole family!

That ends your stay in Kathmandu. Pack your bags, take a break, and prepare for the trip to Pokhara.
